The Canberra Times Marathon Festival
Join the oldest city marathon in Australia at The Canberra Times Marathon Festival on 13 April 2025! This prestigious event features five distances showcasing the beautiful scenery of Australia's Capital City.
Choose from the AIMS-certified Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K courses, or enjoy the 5.4K and Kids' 2K fun run. All races start near Old Parliament House, offering stunning views of the National Triangle and Lake Burley Griffin.
No matter your level, there's something for everyone. Celebrate running in Canberra and receive a FREE finisher t-shirt.
Cookie Monster Run for Bravery Trek
The Bakers Run – Supporting Bravery Trust
In partnership with Coles and the ANZAC Biscuit Fundraiser
Join us on Wednesday 22 April for a full day of movement, mateship, and meaningful support for Bravery Trust, who provide emergency financial aid, counselling, and education to veterans, serving personnel, and their families.
🏃♂️ Morning: The Bakers Run
We’ll run from Coles Manuka to Coles Civic via the Australian War Memorial, carrying sacks of flour, oats, and sugar — symbolising the load others have carried for us, and the simple ways we can help in return.
📍 Meet at Coles Manuka – 6:30am
🏃♀️ Run via Telopea Park and ANZAC Parade
📸 Photo stop & presentation at the War Memorial
🏁 Finish at Coles Civic around 8:00am, done by 8:30am
🌇 Evening: R4R – Bravery Trust Edition
At our regular Wednesday night R4R run, we’ll continue the theme of service and support. Every runner will receive a Coles ANZAC Biscuit post-run, in recognition of the Bravery Trust and the ongoing support from Coles.
📍 Meet at Arc de Resilience, Eastlake Parade, Kingston – 5:45pm
🏃♂️ Run starts at 6:00pm | Finished by 7:00pm
🍪 ANZAC Biscuits for all runners at the finish

Join us for a special morning as we stop, reflect, and pay respect.
Here’s what happening:
🌅 Dawn Service – Starts at 5:30am (coffee van from 5:00am)
🏃♀️ Running for Resilience – Anzac Edition – Straight after the service with the fire-up speech from Foreshore local Sam Schumacher.
🍳 Breakfast – Served at The Dock and Local Press Cafe, right next door

City2Surf
Experience one of the world’s most iconic courses at City2Surf! Start your 14km journey in the heart of Sydney’s bustling CBD and finish at the world-famous Bondi Beach. Begin at the intersection of Park and College Streets, race downhill on William Street, and pass through the Kings Cross Tunnel. Enjoy the scenic route along New South Head Road, through Rose Bay, and tackle the infamous Heartbreak Hill, presented by AIA. Take in the stunning views as you turn at Vaucluse onto Old South Head Road and Military Road. Finish strong with a turnaround at Curlewis Street and cross the finish line on Queen Elizabeth Drive at Bondi Beach.

Kick off your New Year’s Eve with the R4R run at 6pm from The Jetty, followed by a picnic and celebrations. Enjoy the 9pm fireworks with the family or stay until midnight to welcome the new year – kids welcome!

The Fun Run Pink is a part of the Ramsey Health Care Triathlon. Although the triathlons are women only, there are fun runs for all genders and ages!

Tennis for Resilience
Thanks to Tennis ACT, we now have Tennis for Resilience for the next 10 Fridays. It’s free and open to all ages and abilities.
Program dates: Every Friday starting 13 March
Time: 4:00pm – 5:30pm
Location: Barton Tennis Club
Sessions are beginner-friendly and include:
POP Tennis
Traditional tennis
Modified balls (orange or green) suited to newer players
No experience needed. Just show up and have a hit.
From 5:30pm, participants are invited to The Dock for a relaxed drink and connection.
Each week, one participant will receive a Prize Pack provided by Tennis ACT:

10-pack Cardio Tennis lessons at Tennis World

Join the Canberra Day Appeal Fun Run and help raise funds for Hands Across Canberra, supporting local charities across the ACT.
This is a community event for all ages and abilities. You can run or walk and take part as an individual, with friends, or as a family.

Lennox Gardens District Park, located off Flynn Dr, Yarralumla.
Purpose
The Fun Run is part of the Canberra Day Appeal, which runs for the month leading up to Canberra Day and raises vital funds for local charities.
All proceeds from the event go directly to the appeal.

Minimum age
10km: 13 years
5km: No minimum age. Children under 13 must be accompanied by a guardian.

Race timing concludes at 11:30 am. Participants must finish by this time.

ANU x R4R Launch!
Running for Resilience is launching at ANU during O-Week, and everyone is welcome.
This new community run is designed to make it easy for students and staff to show up, move together, and connect.
We’ll kick things off with an inaugural run during O-Week, followed by regular weekly sessions.

Start location: Three Sides Coffee, ANU Law School
Route
4.5km out and back, fully within ANU grounds with one zebra crossing.
You can run at your own pace.

Volunteer Training Session
This session is for anyone new to volunteering at R4R or considering joining.
Running for Resilience has grown fast, and giving our volunteers the tools to look after themselves (while spotting red flags in others and connecting them with support) has never been more important.
This free session will cover the weekly volunteer logistics and include a training session from the team at the Medicare Mental Health Centre.

Stromlo Running Festival
The Stromlo Running Festival is Canberra’s biggest trail running festival.
This festival is designed so that anyone can join, whether it’s a distance of 5km, 10km, 15km, 30km, a marathon, or a 2.5km course designed for the kids.
Come and celebrate strength, resilience, and courage and challenge yourself on Canberra’s wide open trails!
Sri Chinmoy Triple-Triathlon
The Sri Chinmoy Triple-Triathlon is an iconic event showcasing Canberra's beauty and a highlight on the national multi-sport calendar. It offers an ultimate scenic tour through a series of demanding activities.
Participants can join as teams or solo entrants, with solo attempts being one of the most challenging single-day sports feats. Most compete in teams, enhancing the experience with camaraderie, speed, strategy, and endurance.

The Canberra Times Fun Run 2025
Join The Canberra Times Fun Run on the 2nd of November! Come and set your own pace and choose between 4 distances, 21.2km, 10km, 5km, or a 2km kids run.
This course takes you around some of the best of Canberra’s iconic landmarks like the old and new parliament houses and Lake Burley Griffin.
After the run, wind down in the lively event village filled with entertainment for the whole family.

ACT Fire & Rescue’s Ainslie to Everest 2025
Date: Saturday 18 October 2025
Time: Walk from 6am to 2pm; Community activities 10am–2pm
Location: Mt Ainslie, Canberra
Join us at Mt Ainslie on Saturday 18 October as ACT Fire & Rescue firefighters take on the challenge of climbing the elevation of Mt Everest—right here in Canberra. This inspiring event raises vital funds for Lifeline Canberra and shines a spotlight on mental health. Enjoy community activities at the summit, meet emergency services personnel, explore a fire truck, and grab a bite from the BBQ.
Dusk till Dawn Team Challenge
Date: 17–18 October 2025
Location: Australian War Memorial, Canberra
Starting 7 pm Friday, runners will take to the course through the night, finishing at 7 am Saturday. Every step helps provide financial and wellbeing support for current and former Defence personnel. Together, we’re running to ensure no veteran faces their struggle alone.
Canberra Colour Frenzy
Colour Frenzy is coming! A colourful day for everyone!
5 Colour Stations, 1 Foam Station and new obstacles. All the stations and events are for all ages!
You can walk, jog, or run, it’s completely self-paced and untimed. There is a 2.5km loop track marked out with multiple colourful zones along the way. You can do 1 or all 2 laps, it’s your choice! No timing and No pressure!
