Running for Resilience started out as a way to show support for the message of keeping moving and highlighting the importance of resilience. Since those first few runs, however, it has begun to mean different things to different people.
It doesn’t matter if you’re just getting in some exercise, trying to meet new people or looking for an outlet during a tough time. If you’re turning up for a run, you’re adding value to your life and you’re facilitating an environment for someone else to add value to theirs!
Here are some reasons why our runners run for resilience!
Just. Keep. Moving.

R4R is a great chance to meet new people, connect, and earn the tasty beverage after!
Running reminds me that my body is capable and not to take that for granted. It helps clear my mind of the days stress and be in the moment.

Why I Run for Resilience:
Of course I run to further R4R's growth so that more people can realise how important resilience and keeping moving is. But if I remove myself from that, I love the exercise followed by a drink and a chat. I always leave feeling great and with a desire to do more.

Why I Run for Resilience:
I love R4R for a number of reasons. What I like most is the opportunity to meet a bunch of other like minded people and then share a drink with them after the run.
It’s great to add a run into the weekly routine and start to build up the fitness levels and also have the accountability to get out there rain/hail/shine/smoke! There is nothing more satisfying then completing a run that you never wanted to start in the first place!

Why I Run for Resilience:
When I retired from Rugby, exercising everyday with my mates is what I miss most. But R4R (and parkrun) makes it easy for me to get regular exercise and I’ve made a lot of new friends. Not to mention the beer at the end always tastes bloody good!

Why I Run for Resilience:
As I run, as I put one foot in front of the other I get to know both myself and the people around me.
I run for connection.
For the sort that is found within a community. Though I run too for connection within myself, that created through the stillness discovered by unpacking and understanding my mind.
I run because I know the value this holds.

I run for the sense of freedom, the fresh air and the challenge. It is such an amazing feeling to be able to enjoy it with a great group of people. Move well people!
